Sitting Meditation

Sitting meditation moves the body into stillness.  In stillness we open to the continuous dance of sensations naturally arising and passing away in the body.  Meditation and Dharma teacher Thich Nhat Hanh describes meditation practice as “returning home to give full attention to and care for your self.  In the practice we sit upright with dignity, and return to our breathing. We bring our full attention to what is within and around us. We let our mind become spacious and our heart soft and kind.”

Intending the heart and mind toward stillness is a doorway to acceptance and appreciation for the changing flow of life.  Sitting meditation session will be held both in silence as well as with guided recordings from the Insight Meditation Society.  Blankets will be provided. Please bring additional cushions or zabutons to support your practice.
